How does Laser Hair Removal work? Is it safe?

Laser Hair Removal works by targeting the hair follicle beneath the skin's surface using color detection technology. It is a long-lasting and pain-free solution to unwanted hair that is completely safe for your skin. The process starts with a cleanly shaven surface of skin that a cooling gel similar to the one used in ultrasound is applied to. The laser tool is then held on the treatment area where the pulsed light beam will target the unwanted hair. Safety measures like glasses to protect the eyes from the laser light and surrounding precautions are always followed through to guarantee an overall comfortable session.

What should I do before coming in for my laser appointment? Pre-treatment

Two to four weeks prior to your treatment appointment you should refrain from threading, plucking, bleaching or waxing your skin. Areas being treated should be completely shaven at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. Do not apply deodorant, lotions, and/or makeup on areas that are going to be treated and completely avoid tanning two weeks prior.

What do I do after my laser treatment? Post-treatment protocol and measures.

After your laser treatment, make sure to apply sunscreen with the right SPF value to your skin tone immediately after the session period on areas that will be exposed to sunlight and reapply throughout the day. Heat-induced activities like hot showers, prolonged sun exposure and tanning (tanning lotions, tanning beds, etc.) should be completely avoided for 24 hours after your treatment session.

Who is eligible for laser treatments?

Anybody above the age of 16 is eligible for laser treatments. Laser treatments work best on darker and coarser hair but can be used on any other hair types.
Please keep in mind that if you have a severe skin condition, if you are taking photosensitive medications, acne medications (accutane), if you are pregnant or a cancer patient you are NOT ELIGIBLE for laser hair removal treatments.

How many laser removal sessions will I require?

The number of sessions you would like to do is entirely up to you however, laser hair removal cannot be at its maximum effectiveness in just one treatment as hair on the body is always in different growth stages. Depending on the hair density and area of hair, an average of 6-10 treatments are required for the most noticeable results.

Side effects are based entirely upon your skin and your own individual skin's reactions.
